In China the youth sacrifices their current existence in order to look for a better future. They go to Beijing for studying at one of the many universities. Often hundreds of kilometers from their family they get a room at the university campus, where they have limited privacy. A room is shared with 4 to 6 other students. Every student gets a bed, writing desk and locker and copes in his own way with this limited space.

With this serie, Vanthoor won the 1e price in the Red Bull 5 pics photocontest in collaboration with FOAM. The result of the price is a exibition pavillion designed by Wouter klein Velderman.
